Columbia College offers a fleet of military scholarships

Military Recognition Day 2014Every year Columbia College proudly awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students who are active duty military, Reserve, veterans and their dependents. Recipients are invited to attend the annual Military Recognition Day ceremony at the main campus in Columbia, Missouri (attendance at the event is not a requirement of selection), which will be held May 21 this year.

The application deadline for three of these scholarships is Feb. 28. Do you or someone you know qualify to apply for one or more of these scholarships?

 

Col. Charles E. McGee Scholarship 

Colonel Charles E. McGeeThe Col. Charles E. McGee Scholarship recognizes the efforts of a veteran student who embodies the spirit and courage of McGee as he/she served our country and now is pursuing a college education.

Award amount: Two awards granted, $1,000 each

Who’s eligible: Any undergraduate or graduate Columbia College student classified as a veteran (no longer serving and honorably discharged), and/or a dependent of a veteran, who is degree-seeking with a minimum 2.5 GPA, attending a Columbia College campus.

Ousley Veterans Scholarship 

Ousley Family The Ousley Family Veterans Scholarship was established to honor and support the academic endeavors of veterans who may not qualify for academic merit scholarship awards.

Award amount: Four awards granted, $500 each

Who’s eligible: The award is presented to a Columbia College student veteran of the U.S. military who is making satisfactory progress toward a degree.  Preference will be given to a student veteran who has exhausted VA educational benefits.

Col. Mike Randerson Scholarship

Colonel David "Mike" RandersonEstablished in 2014, the Col. Mike Randerson Scholarship recognizes the efforts of outstanding military students who exemplify Randerson’s dedication to service and education.

Award amount: One award granted, $1,000

Who’s eligible: Any undergraduate or graduate Columbia College student classified as a veteran (no longer serving and honorably discharged), active duty military, Guard, Reserve and/or dependent who wishes to attend the college.
