Anticipation continues to build with the release of the tournament schedule for the 2018 Midwest Campus Clash and Gaming Expo today. The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. on April 7 at Columbia College and will bring some of the top collegiate eSports teams in the country together to compete for a $25,000 prize pool playing the world-renowned game League of Legends.

The Midwest’s premier eSports event will feature some marquee match-ups throughout the bracket, including a border battle between the University of Missouri and the University of Kansas in Round 3. Host and No. 1 team in the country Columbia College will play the winner of that matchup, while Maryville University, Kansas State University, Robert Morris and Miami University of Ohio will tangle on Friday night for the right to move on to the semifinals on Saturday. The complete bracket will feature the following matchups:

 

Friday, April 6 (*these two matches are not open to the public)

Round 1 – 5 p.m. – Maryville University vs. Kansas State University

Round 2 – 7 p.m. – Robert Morris University vs. Miami University of Ohio

 

Saturday, April 7

Round 3 – 10:15 a.m. – University of Kansas vs. University of Missouri

 

Semifinals

Round 4 – 11:45 a.m. – Winner of Round 1 vs. Winner of Round 2

Round 5 – 1:15 p.m. – Winner of Round 3 vs. Columbia College

 

Championship

Round 6 – 4:30 p.m. – Winner of Round 4 vs. Winner of Round 5

 

New to this year’s event will be a tournament featuring the wildly popular game Rocket League, the sports-action hit with a community of more than 42 million players, developed and published by San Diego-based game studio, Psyonix.
