Director Carl David and his wife, Amy, received the Laguna Niguel “2013 Citizen of the Year” award. The award recognizes those who volunteer to support various activities and events around the city. According to the City of Laguna Niguel, “Carl and Amy David are longtime residents of Laguna Niguel, who for many years, have unassumingly volunteered their time and energy to helping those in need and serving their community.”

David’s many community service projects include serving on the planning committee for the Laguna Niguel Parade and on the Board of Directors for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of the United States Army as well as spearheading several successful fundraisers for community members. He is active in the local schools, leading a beautification program, serving on the booster club, volunteering to drive and chaperone field trips, speaking to the students on Veterans Day in addition to encouraging schools to adopt military families throughout the holidays. He volunteers in youth sports organizations and is active in his church.

David has been director of Columbia College–Los Alamitos since 2009.
