Nollie MooreNollie Moore, director of the music program at Columbia College, has been named the 2014 Outstanding Northeast District Director by the Missouri Choral Directors Association. He will receive the award at the MCDA’s summer conference banquet in Jefferson City, Missouri, on July 25.

Moore also serves as an instructor of music at the college, as the director of the Jane Froman Singers and as the faculty advisor to the college’s A Capella Society and the drama club, The Elysium Players. Under Moore’s leadership, the Jane Froman Singers have established a tradition of successful collaborations with mid-Missouri arts organizations in acclaimed performances. Concert tours have taken members to New York City’s Carnegie Hall, the great cathedrals of Scotland, England and Austria, and concert halls in China.

The Missouri Choral Directors Association is a state organization of the American Choral Directors Association, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition and advocacy.
