Mike SleaddIt’s the college’s mission to improve the lives of diverse undergraduate and graduate learners, but we don’t always stop there. Columbia College occasionally sponsors and supports charities that are doing great things in the communities we serve all over the country.

Recently, the college was one of the sponsors of the 16 annual “Hungerthon” in Springfield, Missouri. Benefiting the Ozarks Food Harvest’s Backpack Program, the event raised more than $130,500. Columbia College also was a sponsor of GuitarHenge, a fundraiser to bring music education to thousands of children. The Blues in the Schools foundation raised $5,000 by selling 10 painted guitar figurines, one of which was painted by Mike Sleadd, chair of the Visual Arts and Music department.
