Columbia College will host Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) classes at its Lake of the Ozarks campus starting in January. These classes will fulfill continuing education requirements and offer local law enforcement officers quality instruction in the following subject areas:
- January 6-8 – Forensic photography
- March 17-19 – Bloodstain recognition and reconstruction
- May 19-21 – First responder fingerprinting
- July 28-30 – Advanced photography
The classes will be taught by POST approved criminal justice faculty members from Columbia College who are practitioners in the fields they are presenting. Many of the POST training seminars are based on materials required by the International Association for Identification (IAI) to review and study for various certification exams, such as Forensic Photography and Bloodstain Recognition and Reconstruction.
These seminars are intended to not only help prepare attendees to obtain POST Provider Approved continuing education hours, but to also familiarize them with the materials the IAI will use in its certification exams. For class descriptions, registration and additional information about Columbia College’s POST classes, visit GoForGreater.org/LOPOST, or contact POST Coordinator Mike Himmel at email@example.com or at (573) 230-1390.
