Constance_BennettColumbia College regional director, Debra Hartman, recently announced the hiring of Dr. Constance Bennett as campus director at Columbia College-Mesquite. The Columbia College location is located inside the Workforce/Corporate & Continuing Education building at Eastfield College. Bennett will serve as the liaison between Columbia College and Eastfield College on a daily basis. She also will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the campus, including class scheduling and student and faculty recruitment.

“As an experienced instructor and leader, Dr. Bennett brings solid perspective on adult education that will really enhance her effectiveness in this positon,” Hartman says. “Her experience in the Dallas County Community College District is truly an asset as we continue to grow our partnership with Eastfield College.”

Bennett’s 16-year career spans several levels and aspects of education in the Dallas area. Her background in business and finance has served her well, having worked as both a teacher and administrator at the high school and collegiate level. Most recently, Bennett served as an adjunct professor for Northwood University, teaching business management, human resources management, finance and strategic leadership courses since 2011. Bennett also taught for the Central Texas College Online High School.

Bennett holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University, a master’s degree in business administration from University of Dallas and a Ed. D. in education with a concentration in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She was awarded the 2011 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence award and was also recognized with the Adjunct Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award by El Centro College. Bennett is also extremely active in the Dallas community. She is a member of the Dallas Community Emergency Response Team, is a graduate of the Leadership Arlington Class of 2008-2009 and is a member many other community committees and organizations.

Joining her staff at Mesquite is Ron Ward, who will serve as Campus Enrollment Manager. Ward will be responsible for planning and organizing all aspects of recruitment, admissions and enrollment management at the Mesquite campus, in addition to his recruitment duties, Ward also will parRon_Wardticipate in community relations functions, organize and attend education fairs and help develop marketing plans for the Mesquite campus.

Following a 26-year career in the United States Air Force during which he worked as part of the Presidential Advance Team, Ward has served as pastor at A Church without Walls since 2001. He also worked as District Director for Texas House of Representatives District Office 101 from 2008-2010 before taking a position at Peaceful Journey Counseling and Psychotherapy in 2012. Ward holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, University College and a master of arts in biblical studies from Asbury Theological Seminary.
