The Missouri Community Action Network (CAN) presented its Outstanding Service to Community Action Award to Columbia College at the 2016 Missouri CAN Annual Conference. This award recognizes individuals, organizations, and businesses that have contributed to Community Action’s mission of “helping people and changing lives.”
Missouri CAN is the statewide network of Community Action Agencies, Allies, and Supporters united to end poverty. Columbia College has been a dedicated partner to Missouri CAN over the last several years. Columbia College’s mission to improve the lives of diverse undergraduate and graduate learners through exemplary teaching helps Missouri CAN reach its goal of strengthening the statewide Community Action Network.
In addition, Columbia College has been a resource for Missouri CAN members, especially when space is needed for training or technical assistance needs in Jefferson City. Ann Merrifield (right), Columbia College Director of Business Development, accepted the award in person at the 2016 Missouri CAN Annual Conference from Missouri CAN Program Director Courtney Kohler.
With the support of local partners like Columbia College, Missouri CAN achieve its vision of a state where all people and communities thrive.
