This year we have the opportunity to award a second round of Frank S. Westling Memorial scholarships for students at the Nationwide locations, Evening Campus and the Online Education program. The $750 scholarship will be awarded to up to 17 eligible students for use during the remainder of the 2017 academic year (Late Spring Session, Early Summer Session and Late Summer Session). The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees: no cash will be awarded.

To be eligible, a nationwide, evening or online student must:

  • have a GPA of at least 3.0
  • be pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Columbia College
  • have at least 15 hours with Columbia College
  • have attended the college in the 2017-18 school year
  • and plan to take classes during the upcoming late spring or summer sessions.

Students can apply through the Financial Aid office’s Scholarship Finder, at ccis.edu/scholarshipfinder. The application includes a 400-500-word essay discussing the student’s career goals and leadership and/or community service achievements, as well as evidence of the student’s leadership and service to the community, college or country within the past 12 months. Students should include documentation of their accomplishments, such as letters of recommendation, awards and news articles.

The deadline for submission is Feb. 9, 2018, and the scholarship winners will be selected in February/March 2018.

Good luck, students, and don’t forget to apply!
