Columbia College Vice President and General Counsel Mark Falkowski recently announced the promotion of Michelle McCaulley to executive director of Human Resources. McCaulley, a 2010 graduate of the Columbia College Evening Campus, had served as associate director of Human Resources since joining the college in July 2018.
In this new role, McCaulley will be charged with leading her team to provide HR support for all employees at the college. She will also be responsible for implementing policies and practices to ensure the college is proactively meeting HR-related compliance obligations.
“Michelle brings more than two decades of experience to this position, and we are excited to have her lead our Human Resources team,” said Falkowski. “Her career in the constantly changing field of HR has spanned every area the department faces daily, and she has been and will continue to be a valuable resource for our faculty and staff.”
Prior to joining the Columbia College team, McCaulley served as HR department head for New Vision-Special Care Hospital Management Corporation in St. Louis from 2013-18. She also played a key role in the HR efforts for businesses in St. Louis and Columbia including Unigroup, the Outsource Group, Accounting Plus, the Landrum Company and ABC Laboratories during her 22-year career.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration with majors in human resource management and business management at Columbia College, McCaulley secured a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management from Webster University in St. Louis. She is currently working toward her Master of Jurisprudence in Labor and Employment Law from the Tulane University School of Law with an expected graduation date this spring.
