Stephanie Johnson, Columbia College associate vice president for Recruiting and Admissions, was recently named to the Board of Directors of the Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation (GMLF).
The organization’s focus is on supporting, educating and inspiring women leaders to make a difference in their communities throughout the state of Missouri. GMLF hosts the Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge every year for 35 select candidates who have access to several professional development experiences, behind-the-scenes tours of different industries and experiences that encourage professional growth.
“The experience I had as a member of the Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge Class of 2018 was a remarkable one and the opportunity to serve alongside these amazing women leaders is a true honor,” Johnson said. “I am looking forward to working with fellow board members to put together programming that both inspires and educates future classes of the challenge.”
Johnson has been a valuable member of the Columbia College team for more than 15 years and was recently promoted to her current position after serving as senior director of Admissions for the college since 2014. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and MBA from Columbia College in 2004 and 2007, respectively.
Johnson has been a dedicated volunteer for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Boone County efforts for 10 years. She has served as the event planning chair and captain of the Columbia College team that has been the top fundraising group in each of the last seven years in Boone County.
“We are so excited to have Stephanie join us on the Greater Missouri board,” GMLF Board President Kim Becking said. “She brings incredible expertise from the higher-education and recruiting realm to our organization as we continue to serve women leaders across Missouri.”
Johnson will serve a three-year term (January 1, 2020-December 31, 2022) with the opportunity of serving a second term.
