Suzanne Rothwell – Vice President for Advancement, Columbia College

Dear Columbia College family,

As we face the uncertainty of these days, weeks and months ahead, we are sure of one thing: Columbia College Cares. We take care of each other, our loved ones, our communities and our world.

In the midst of these unexpected, extraordinary circumstances, I want to emphasize that the safety and well-being of our college community remains our top priority. This includes our alumni and friends across the globe.

I want to recognize the members of our Columbia College family who are on the front lines of this crisis: from healthcare professionals to first responders, to food retailers and nonprofit employees, we know Cougars are doing their part to take care of their communities. We are proud of your commitment to serving others in this time of need.

We know that some of our Columbia College students and faculty will face new challenges as they navigate this crisis. With this in mind, we have made the decision to postpone our second annual Giving Day, originally scheduled for April 7th, and focus our efforts on the Columbia College Cares Emergency Fund. All gifts to this fund will be used to address immediate needs such as:

  • Technology support for our mission-critical virtual learning platform
  • Providing housing and supplies for students unable to leave campus due to circumstances out of their control
  • Bolstering scholarships for students nationwide

100% of all donations to the Columbia College Cares Emergency Fund will directly support our students and our faculty with their most urgent needs as they adapt to these constantly evolving circumstances.

If you are in a position to help, please know that every gift of any size makes a difference. Your support and encouragement as we all go through this unprecedented time together is appreciated. You can make a gift by visiting or by calling (573) 875-7563.

We hope you’ll take this opportunity to connect and network with your fellow Columbia College students and alumni. Thank you for your support. Most importantly, please continue to take care of yourselves and to look out for one another.

We are CC,

Suzanne Rothwell
