As you may have heard, after serving Columbia College for nearly seven years, Tina and I have decided to step down for family reasons.
We’re part of the ‘sandwich generation,’ with aging parents on one hand (all four of our parents are still living) and children & grandchildren on the other. All need our help in different ways. Except for a son who is in the Navy, our relatives all live in the Northeast, and travel restrictions have kept us from seeing them for nearly a year. We just can’t be apart from them so long—we need to be a car ride away.
As the earlier announcement said, heading into 2021 family must be our priority. I will seek another presidency, but one close enough to family that we can be there when they need us.
It has been our pleasure to work with so many dedicated staff and faculty members over the years. We will truly miss so many of you.
To our students and alumni: thank you for the opportunity to serve you. It has been a pleasure meeting so many of you over the years, not only here in Columbia but across the country as we visited all of CC’s locations, some multiple times.
Tina and I are honored to have been part of the CC family. Good health and Godspeed to all of you.
