Just as this newsletter was started, I found myself looking at my garden and feeling a twinge of spring fever. All thoughts were on the early start of one of our glorious summers! Thankfully the rain returned and reality struck! While it was difficult refocusing on the task at hand, the feelings reminded me of the difficulty of working remotely and the unfathomable fact we are just now planning a slow return to our offices.

When we could not hold our in-seat classes, we found hard-work, resilience, and refocusing allowed education entities like Columbia College to offer students different modes and means to achieve their education goal. We learned human resilience will eventually win the race! If you had to stop working toward your goal, remember while difficult, paths exist to reestablish those education goals. Either contacting us remotely or hopefully back in our offices, be assured we will be here, when the time comes to resume your new normalcy.

As noted, at last we are planning a slow return to our offices at Everett and Marysville. Larry Cousins (Advisor Everett) will be taking appointments for advising at Everett on Wednesdays at our new office in the commons. You must have an appointment and together we will take every precaution to ensure safety measures are in place. Arlene (Advisor Marysville) will soon return (Tuesdays) to our Marysville office, and as with Everett, you must have an appointment!

Other good news, we are delight to welcome a new advisor to our midst, Ms. Laruen Tapp, who is currently in training to offer you the same high standards of advising that Larry and Arlene provide. Lauran has more than ten years working in higher education, including a position in the former Navy College Office at Everett. We are delighted to welcome Lauran to Columbia College. We know you are resilient and now we are devising new paths to welcome you back or to get started. Call us and set an appointment: (360) 653-4480 for NS Marysville and (425) 259-4481 Everett. Also, don’t forget to read the rest of the articles in this month’s newsletter in the column on the right!
