Welcome to Fort Worth’s new assistant director, Jared Opoien. Jared holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of North Texas and has lived in the Fort Worth area with his wife and two dogs for the last seven years. He was born and raised in the midwestern United States (Indiana/Ohio), but has grown to love Texas!
When the weekend comes, you can usually find him woodworking at home or reading a good book. Jared’s higher education experience includes teaching a wide variety of undergraduate philosophy courses across all knowledge competency levels and different student demographics. Throughout his teaching experience with Columbia College, he has enjoyed the student body as well as all of the hard-working supervisors, staff, and faculty. He is excited to continue here as part of the Columbia family!
