Columbia College and Elgin Community College leadership recently announced enhancements to their long-standing and successful relationship. ECC employees, spouses and dependents are now eligible for a 15-percent discount on tuition to pursue their degree at Columbia College. The expanded partnership also increased the Associate Degree Transfer Grant value to 10-percent tuition savings for eligible ECC graduates transferring to Columbia College.
“Columbia College and Elgin Community College have enjoyed an outstanding partnership for several years and we’re thrilled to expand our offerings to the ECC community even further,” said Columbia College-Elgin Director Karen Beckstrom.
ECC offers more than 120 degree and certificate programs to its student body. Featuring more than 10,000 current students and more than 40,000 alumni worldwide, the institution was recently recognized as one of the top 150 community colleges in the nation.
“For more than 20 years, Columbia College has been a model transfer partner, helping prepare local students for post-graduation success,” said Elgin Community College President David Sam, PhD, JD, LLM. “Together, our institutions prepare ECC graduates with multiple affordable baccalaureate degree completion options, including business, human services, criminal justice, nursing and more. All of those can be completed on our campus or online. Expanding this partnership provides even greater access to high-quality education and is an investment in our people that will serve the Elgin community for generations to come.”
Columbia College offers six sessions lasting eight weeks each, allowing students to complete their degree quickly. The college is very transfer-friendly and also features the Truition® program, which offers a transparent look at the cost of college by eliminating all fees and providing books at no cost.
