Leaders from Columbia College and Metropolitan Community College have announced features of a new partnership between the two institutions. MCC employees, spouses and dependents under the age of 25 are now eligible for a 15-percent discount on tuition to pursue their degree at Columbia College. Additionally, MCC graduates are qualified for a 10-percent discount.
“Columbia College is pleased to offer an outstanding benefit not only to MCC students, but also its employees,” said Columbia College-Kansas City Director Cindy Miller. “Our tuition discount also extends to spouses and dependents, expanding higher education opportunities to the individuals we serve throughout Kansas City. We’re proud of our decades-long connection with MCC. We look forward to continuing to promote lifelong learning to metro residents.”
Founded in 1915, Metropolitan Community College is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City and was the first community college established in the state. MCC houses four campuses on the Missouri side of the Kansas City area and offers online learning for its students.

Columbia College offers six sessions lasting eight weeks each, allowing students to complete their degree quickly. The college is very transfer-friendly and also features the Truition® program, which offers a transparent look at the cost of college by eliminating all fees and providing books at no cost.
