Columbia College Athletics’ quest for a seventh consecutive American Midwest Conference (AMC) Presidents’ Cup is off to a strong start, as men’s & women’s cross country, men’s & women’s golf, men’s & women’s soccer and women’s volleyball are each competing at a high level.
As the Fall 2023 season inches towards postseason play, Cougars men’s & women’s basketball and women’s bowling opened its Winter 2023 campaigns in October and November. CC bowling opened competition on Oct. 21-22 at the Mid-States Championships and will compete in nine additional tournaments before the NAIA Conference Tournament from Feb. 24-25, 2024.
Cougars women’s basketball began play on Oct. 29, winning its home opener at Southwell Gymnasium. CC men’s basketball starts its respective season on Nov. 1 with a home matchup in mid-Missouri. On Oct. 25, both Cougars women’s basketball and men’s basketball were tabbed the favorites to win the 2023-24 American Midwest Conference titles, per the AMC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
