Columbia College recently announced the addition of five new members to the Columbia College Alumni Association (CCAA) Advisory Council.
The CCAA Advisory Council serves as the leadership group of the Alumni Association and is composed of dedicated volunteers who are committed to the continued success and advancement of Columbia College. The Council provides strategic advice and plays a key role in helping the CCAA fulfill its mission to foster lifelong relationships among students, alumni and friends of the College.
The new council members bring a wide range of experiences and perspectives that will help guide the work of the CCAA and strengthen connections between the College and nearly 100,000 alumni worldwide as the institution prepares to celebrate its 175th anniversary in 2026.
Members of the CCAA Advisory Council serve three-year terms. New members include:
- Justin Davis ’14 – Day Program
- Justin Davis is an attorney working for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. During his time at Columbia College, Justin was the captain of the Mock Trial Team and served as vice president of the Student Government Association. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, he worked for Envision at Stanford University, moved to Nicaragua to teach English as a Second Language, and worked at Beaver Creek Resort as a snowcat operator. He received his J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law, with a concentration in Criminal Justice and a certificate in Dispute Resolution. Justin currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri, with his wife, Kelsey, and their son, Henry.
- Shapree Marshall ’21 ’23 – Columbia College Global
- Shapree Marshall is the founder and CEO of A Traveled Path Homes, a housing company that supports the unique needs of traveling health-care professionals. Shapree launched the business while earning her Bachelor of General Studies at Columbia College, where she discovered a deep passion for entrepreneurship and community leadership. She is actively involved in mentorship and civic service, serving on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City and the Parent Leadership Training Institute – Kansas City. She is also a member of the National Congress of Black Women – Kansas City chapter. Shapree lives in the Kansas City metro area with her two children, Mark and Lauryn.
- Nicolau “Nico” Soares Neto ’19 – Day Program
- Nicolau “Nico” Soares Neto is a Partner at Hindsight Financial. While earning his Bachelor of General Studies at Columbia College, Nico was a member of the Cougar men’s soccer program as a goalkeeper, then eventually served as a student assistant for both the men’s and women’s programs. He continued his soccer journey with the Kansas City Comets professional indoor team. He volunteers with the Northland Rotary Club of Kansas City, Bolton Empowerment Foundation, JReid InDeed and Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Nico and his wife, Sara, currently reside in Kansas City.
- Paul Prevo ’17 – Day Program, Evening Program, Online Program
- Paul Prevo is an entrepreneur and community leader based in Columbia, Missouri. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia College, attending the Day Program and later taking evening and online classes. Paul is the owner and founder of Tiger Tots Preschools, an early childhood education center that has become one of the largest preschool programs in mid-Missouri. He is the broker and founder of Market Ready LLC and Market Ready Realty, a real estate investment, management and sales company. Paul has also served as a Boone County Planning and Zoning Commissioner and on several other community boards, including Boone County Family Resources.
- Virginia Steiger ’85 –Day Program
- Virginia (Wiemann) Steiger serves as Public Outreach Vice President for Prost Builders and Public Outreach Manager for Missouri Solar Applications in Jefferson City, Missouri. She met her future husband, John, on the first day of orientation at Columbia College. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion, she moved to Chicago to begin a new life with John, working as a boutique manager, appliqué designer, window designer and production manager at Audience, Inc. While in Chicago, Virginia co-founded the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association and founded Jeff Fest, a successful arts and music festival. She and John now live in Columbia and have two adult children, Colin and Alexandra.
