Transitioning from active military service to civilian life can be a daunting task. Luckily for the CC community, nearly 18,000 alumni have served in the military or are dependents of service members and provide a valuable network of individuals who share this unique perspective to the workforce.
Although COVID-19 has prevented normal celebration of the college’s traditions, they nevertheless carry on. Last week, during the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the college presented a virtual Veterans Day celebration via its livestream platform.
The Columbia College Ousley Family Veterans Service Center will have a new home in 2020. The college recently acquired the property at 904 N. Eighth Street with the intent to provide an enhanced experience for its military and veteran student community. The new facility will be named the Colonel Charles E. McGee ’78 House and serve as the home of the Ousley Family Veterans Service Center.
